Throughout the summer of 2021, HDR was engaged in pursuit of an extension to Niswonger Childrens’ Hospital, an existing facility in Johnson City. Early in the design phase, we generated different design options to include in proposals, demonstrating how many new beds each design would accommodate, as well as how it would alter the facility’s public space and appearance. We devised four schemes: Straight up, Roof Garden, Center Rises, and Full Floor.
I was responsible for meeting one-on-one with project design leads in design development, 3D modeling of design options, and iterative construction of renders featured in proposals.
